Training Content
English at Work training is fully customized to meet the needs of each individual workplace. A qualified instructor conducts a needs assessment of the workplace and eligible employees, then develops a curriculum for the workplace.
Inside the classroom:
- Health and Safety
- Tools and Materials
- Working with Numbers
- Getting Help (Asking Questions)
- Talking about Quality
- Filling out Paperwork
- Policies and Procedures
- Interacting with Coworkers
- Canadian Workplace Culture
- English for Leadership
Outside the classroom:
Components that take learing beyond the classroom are encouraged. It is important that learners do not only become comfortable with English in the training room, while remaining uncomfortable in daily interactions outside the training room. Outside of the classroom elements can include:
- 1-0n-1 Shop Floor Tutorials with the Instructor
- Custom Picture Dictionary (unique to each workplace)
- Lunchroom Conversation Tables
- Special English Language Tasks and Assignments
